How to Watch the Paralympic Games and Opening Ceremony Live
The 2020 Paralympics Opening Ceremony begins at 6:55 a.m. ET on August 24. Viewers can catch the ceremony live either on television or online via NBCUniversal, the official U.S. media partner of the Olympic and Paralympic Games through 2032.
Live coverage of the Paralympic Games can also be accessed on television or online via NBCUniversal.
How to Watch the Paralympics Opening Ceremony
Live coverage of the opening ceremony takes place from 6:55 a.m. to 10 a.m. ET on August 24. It will air on NBCSN, the television channel owned by the NBC Sports Group of NBCUniversal.
A live stream of the ceremony will also be available at NBCOlympics.com and via the NBC Sports mobile app.
The NBC Sports app can be downloaded on mobile phones and most streaming platforms including Android TV, Apple TV and Roku.
Those who missed the live coverage can view the opening ceremony later in the evening on August 24, when the program re-airs on NBCSN at 7 p.m. ET.
Where to Watch the Paralympics
NBCUniversal will provide a record total of 1,200 hours of programming for the 2020 Paralympics. This includes over 200 hours of television coverage across NBC, NBCSN, and the Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA as well as the first-ever primetime hours on NBC.
The total also includes more than 1,000 hours of Paralympics coverage across NBCOlympics.com, the NBC Sports app and Peacock, NBCUniversal's streaming service.

Viewers can catch live coverage of the competition on NBCSN every night from 9 p.m. through 9 a.m. ET. Some coverage will also be available on NBC and the Olympic Channel.

The Paralympics website explains the word "Paralympic" is a combination of the Greek preposition "para," which means beside or alongside and the word "Olympic."
"Its meaning is that Paralympics are the parallel Games to the Olympics and illustrates how the two movements exist side-by-side."
